Copying files from a Sony memory stick to a Macintosh computer is similar to copying the files on a Windows computer. The memory stick, a removable flash memory card format, was developed by Sony and is currently used in Sony devices, such as digital cameras and camcorders. Unfortunately, a memory stick cannot be plugged into USB ports on Mac or Windows computers, so you need a memory stick USB adapter.
1.
Plug the memory stick adapter into a USB port on your Mac.
2.
Plug the Sony memory stick into the memory stick adapter. Mac OS X automatically detects the stick as an external-storage device and assigns a drive to it.
3.
Press 'Cmd-N' to launch the Finder. Select the drive assigned by Mac OS X to your memory stick, listed in the Devices section in the left pane of the Finder. The contents of the stick are displayed in the right pane.
4.
Select one of the files on the stick and press 'Cmd-A' to select all files.
